OUR COMMITMENT TO QUALITY
February 4, 2017

After completing extensive quality inspections, we have detected a manufacturing flaw in an isolated batch of Not Your Mom’s Iced Tea 12 oz. glass bottles. This bottle defect, caused by glass bottle manufacturer error, may result in a small piece of glass breaking off the bottle and possibly falling inside. To date, we have not received any consumer reports about this potential issue and we believe the affected glass impacts less than .004% of bottles. We have been able to retrieve almost all of the affected cases and believe that there are as few as 28 remaining bottles purchased or on the shelf that could pose a risk. Nonetheless, out of an abundance of caution, we have issued a recall of all bottles from the affected production run.

At Small Town Brewery, we understand that we must earn your trust and respect every day. It is in this spirit that we take these precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all our consumers.

The voluntary recall applies to product purchased in the state of New Jersey and in the following cities only: Cedar Rapids, IA; Topeka, KS; New Orleans, LA; Springfield, MA; Baltimore, MD; St. Louis and Kansas City, MO; and Sussex, WI.

No other Small Town products, including Not Your Mom’s Iced Tea, 24 oz. Cans, Not Your Mom’s Strawberry Rhubarb, and Not Your Mom’s Apple Pie, are affected by this recall.

We have stopped distributing all impacted product at this time, and are actively working with our partners to remove this product from retail shelves and to hold any further shipments.

Consumers who have purchased Not Your Mom’s Iced Tea 12 oz. glass bottles on or before February 3rd, 2017 will be eligible for full compensation of the purchase price and are advised not to drink it.

About Small Town Brewery

After home brewing for over two decades, Tim Kovac founded Small Town Brewery in 2010. Kovac’s brewing focus developed as he unearthed his unique family brewing history, which dates back to the 17th century. His ancestor’s brewing practices – which included gruit-based recipes that use herbs, flowers, roots and berries – have inspired Small Town’s innovative offerings that pay homage to the roots of modern brewing. Small Town uses unique ingredients to create specialty beers with an unmistakable taste of nostalgia.
